Don’t make the mistake of waiting till your dog grows up a bit before you start training them because grown up dogs are usually hard to train. Puppies that aren’t trained before they get to a particular age may not be pliable to training. You need to make sure that you start training your puppy at the right time to prevent frustrations.

Dogs are non-verbal creatures while human beings are verbal creatures. Dogs basically communicate what they feel by wagging their tails, moaning, whining, barking or biting. Humans need to learn how to tell their dogs what they want through both verbal and non verbal language.

Herding dogs are born with the instinct to herd. Herding dogs are usually used in farms and the countryside to herd cattle or sheep. Basically most owners of herding dogs use audible command tools to train their dogs because of the nature of the herding job.

In dog training, timing is of the essence. You cannot hope to train your dog when it is already tired. Strive to put a finger on the pulse of time while training your dog so that you will know when to back down and when to be forceful with it.

Shepherd dogs are those dogs that are trained to herd. Shepherd dogs are naturally good herders and make the sheep feel comfortable around them. Shepard dogs can be found in large sheep farms.

It requires a lot of patience to train a dog. Training a dog involves repeating a particular command until the dog gets it. If you don’t have enough patience to train your dog, turn it over to a dog trainer.

Dog training starts first with your ability to get and hold your dog’s attention. A dog that is unable to pay attention will make a poor candidate for training. Make sure that you have your dog’s full attention before you issue out any command.
