What we call cold or hot method is utilized to change the fats into soaps. The cold method in soap making entails putting of fat into a previously primed lye water mixture. Be alert in touching it with your exposed hands as this can cause severe harm due to its acidic property. Lye exposes fumes that may also be dangerous when inhaled, when mixed with water.
